Warehouse layout and Emergency Evacuation

Your warehouse environment has been strategically planned to ensure smooth operations and, most importantly, the safety of all personnel. Below, we present an overview of most warehousing layouts, including key areas and emergency muster points:

Emergency Muster Points:

In the event of an emergency, safety is paramount. Most warehousing layouts includes clearly marked emergency muster points strategically positioned at:

  • Muster Point A: Located near the main entrance/exit, easily accessible from all areas.
  • Muster Point B: Positioned at the opposite end of the warehouse, providing a clear exit path for all staff members.
  • Muster Point C: Outside the break and rest areas, ensuring everyone can quickly gather, even during breaks.

Ask your supervisor to show you all the Muster Points at your workplace as part of the practical assessment for this course.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures:

  • If an emergency alarm sounds, cease all operations immediately.
  • Exit the facility using the nearest and safest exit route.
  • Head to the designated muster point outside the building.
  • Do not re-enter the building until an all-clear signal is given by emergency personnel.
